Bilbao
Since its foundation in the 14th century it has been an important commercial settlement thanks to the privileges that were granted by the Crown of Castilla which developed great exports in the form of Castillian wool and Iron from its mines. During the 19th century and in the beginning of the 20th the city experimented its particular industrial revolution becoming the second biggest industrial hub just behind Barcelona. Today Bilbao is in the process of an esthetic and economic revitalization which has been led by the construction of the Guggenheim Museum.
